Welcome to the AACR
The African-American Community Roundtable (AACR) is an active coalition of social, civic, professional, religious, and cultural groups committed to enhancing the overall quality of life for African-Americans throughout Howard County. Through civic engagement and community service, the AACR focuses on raising awareness around Education, Health, Economic Development & Public Safety & Social Justice; providing resources, and empowering residents as we work toward reducing inequalities among African-Americans.

Health
The AACR makes a systemic and programmatic impact with the goal of improving health outcomes by encouraging personal lifestyle changes and regular medical physicals to reduce/prevent diseases that disproportionately or differentially impact the African-American community. We promote healthy living in the African-American community in Howard County - aiming to tackle health and wellness concerns in our community, including obesity, disease prevention and management, and insurance. By partnering with our member organizations as well as the Horizon Foundation, Howard County General Hospital, and the County Health Department, we drive community wellness through shared education and resources.
